About
Karen is a watercolor artist first putting paint to paper in 2013 after her retirement. She has become a prolific watercolorist and is relentless in her pursuit to grow and flourish in her craft. Karen loves the challenge of watercolor paints, especially transparent colors. She is primarily a realistic painter, selecting images from life and nature she finds interesting and challenging to interpret.
Although Karen likes to paint a variety of subjects, she particularly likes birds and flowers. She loves to paint “white” flowers that reflect the plethora of colors that make the white more vibrant. Karen also likes to paint structures and specializes in custom home watercolor and ink vignettes.
Karen has had many of her original paintings made into beautiful note cards and high-quality Giclee prints available for sale at the Gateway Gallery and the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley.
